UK REACH public consultation launched
On 16 May, DEFRA launched the long-awaited public consultation on the UK REACH alternative registration model (ATRm).
As part of the ongoing project to improve UK REACH, this consultation also includes proposals for changes to the restriction and reporting process, as well as proposals to introduce further protections against unnecessary animal testing. The consultation closes on 11 July.

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has recently published the Statutory Instrument amending the UK REACH fees payable to the UK REACH Agency (The Health and Safety Executive). The Statutory Instrument (2025 No. 299), laid before Parliament on 10 March, will enter into force on 1 April 2025.
