The six-month consultation on the restriction proposal for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) is now open for commenting, allowing anyone with information on PFAS to have their say, with risks, socio-economic impacts, and potential alternatives as topics of particular interest.

ECHA’s Risk Assessment Committee (RAC) and Socio-Economic Analysis Committee (SEAC) will use the information gathered during the proposal to evaluate the restriction and form their opinions.

As a reminder, ECHA are also hosting an online information session on 5 April at 09:00-11:00 BST (11:00-13:00 EEST), during which experts from the Agency and the five national authorities will explain the restriction process, content of the proposal, and how to participate in the consultation. There will also be a Q&A aspect to the session.

For further information, including links to the consultations and the information session, see the news article on ECHA’s website.
