HSE has published their 2023 draft recommendation for inclusion into Annex XIV (the “Authorisation List”) of UK REACH. The following substances are included in the draft recommendation:
Following publication, there is now a consultation period to invite comments on the draft recommendation. Interested parties will have three months to submit their comments, providing information specific to the Great Britain context such as consequences, alternatives and exemptions.
In addition, HSE has also published the following information in the form of background documents:
draft background document for DIHxP, and; the approach being taken by HSE to identify priority substances for inclusion in its recommendations.
The consultation for commenting on the draft recommendation closes on 18 December.
The Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) have announced their intention to revoke Annex VIII to GB CLP using the powers granted under the Retained EU Law (REUL) Bill, following a conclusion that the costs to industry will outweigh the benefits.
