Dow partnered with retailer, Marks & Spencer’s (M&S) for the “Plastics Take Back Scheme”.
In the UK, Dow announced a new initiative in 2019 with Marks & Spencer (M&S) to demonstrate that hard-to-recycle plastic like film on food packaging can be reused. M&S customers drop a variety of plastic packaging - all of which aren’t currently recycled and typically end up in landfill - into recycling bins in store. Dow’s partners then turn the plastic packaging into an alternative to plywood for use in bathroom and kitchen furniture. This work has grown to add new retailers and brand owners. It is now called EPPIC (Extended Plastic Partnership for Innovation and Circularity).
