COMPLETE ONLINE ENTRY FORM

Purpose

This Award is for the site which has excelled at delivering the CIA Responsible Care Guiding Principles by demonstrating leadership, Innovation and Continuous Improvement.

Eligibility

The Award is open to all CIA registered Manufacturing or Research and Development sites. Individual sites must have been in membership for at least one full year at the time of submission.

The winner will be announced at the Chemical Industry Awards Dinner.

 Criteria

Sites should summarise their Responsible Care programme over the past year. This should:

  • Describe how the Responsible Care Guiding Principles are implemented at the site.
  • Demonstrate how continuous improvement through Responsible Care is making a positive contribution to the company’s business.
  • Include evidence of how Responsible Care is communicated throughout the organisation and beyond.
  • Confirm participation in the CIA Responsible Care cell network, giving examples of how experience sharing has delivered real benefits to the site.
  • Make special mention of innovative ideas, projects or initiatives that have provided value to their business within the area of Responsible Care.
  • Make the judges aware of any reportable incidents or accidents or prosecutions which have occurred within the previous 12 months. Where these have occurred then award applicants will be expected to provide additional evidence of the steps they have now taken to modify and deliver improvements required to their Responsible Care programme.

Judging

Entries will be judged by the sponsor, members of the CIA Responsible Care team, and at least one independent expert. The Panel will assess the credibility of the Responsible Care programme using the Entry criteria. Following initial judging, applicants will be notified if they have been short-listed by 9 May 2025.

The judges will invite short-listed applicants to give a brief online presentation about their entry at a date and time that works for everyone. The final judging stage will take place by the end of May 2025.

Closing Date

Entries to be made in confidence to Diana Tamayo on the Entry Form, signed by a member of the company leadership team, by 10 April 2025.
