We are excited to announce the launch of our new report. This document explores the UK chemical industry’s vital role in driving the nation’s economic growth, environmental progress and social inclusion over the next decade.
With the government adopting a ‘mission-led’ approach, several strategies are being developed that are key to the business agenda, notably the economic growth and clean energy superpower missions. Of particular relevance to our sector are strategies like Invest 2035, which focuses on industrial decarbonisation, circularity and trade among others. Our work has been central in informing these strategies, emphasising the importance of our sector and advocating for key policies related to energy, feedstocks, permitting and beyond to ensure success.
As we continue our efforts to inform and shape these strategic long-term initiatives, we acknowledge the urgent need for action opposite both the threats and opportunities faced by our sector. In this context, the Chemical Industries Association (CIA) joined forces with S&P Global to take an independent look at the current and near-future resilience of the chemical industry in the UK based on desk research and widespread industry engagement.
The report helps inform the major threats and opportunities facing UK chemical businesses over the coming 10 years, and the action that is needed NOW by Government and by industry to secure that economic, environmental and social progress for all.
Read the full report and find out how we can turn the next ten years into a decade of opportunity.
