Communications Strategy Group

Our Communications Strategy Group (CSG) deals with our approach to government and politicians at UK and European level (including devolved administrations); the media at national, regional and trade level; schools, colleges and universities; NGOs. CSG also takes responsibility for our site leadership groups in the English Regions and Scotland.

Regional Site Managers

Network Manager: Ian Cranshaw

These regional networks meet on a regular basis to discuss a variety of topics of interest to site managers/directors. The networks maintain contact with relevant regional organisations and seek to discuss and work on locally important topics as well as provide a conduit for information at the national level.

Networks are currently active in the North West and North East regions

Scottish Site Managers

Network Manager: Ian Cranshaw

This network meets quarterly to discuss issues and topics relevant to the sector in Scotland. In particular, this will include issues relating to devolved powers in Scotland, such as environment, education and skills. The group maintains close links to the Scottish Government and the Scottish Parliament, as well as the regulators in Scotland. The group is also active in the “Chemical Sciences Scotland” initiative which is supported by Scottish Enterprise.

Engineering Managers

Network Manager: Mike Lancaster

An off-shoot of the North West Site Managers’ Network this is an informal network/discussion group for Engineering Managers of all disciplines. The network alternates between a 1 hour virtual round table discussion on engineering issues brought to the table and half day meetings at a member site which includes a site tour.
