Chemicals Management Strategy Group

Our Chemicals Management Strategy Group is focused on dealing with product related issues that may affect chemical use within supply chains. It deals with regulations such as REACH and CLP, the ‘products’ part of the Sustainable Consumption and Production agenda (e.g. Ecolabel scheme) as well as long term strategic issues such as the impact of international developments on future EU legislative requirements in areas such as environmental health. CMSG is also responsible for CIA’s Product Stewardship scheme; product-specific sector networks focused on Product Stewardship issues fall under its remit.

Biocides Sector Network

Network Manager: Silvia Segna

For members with an interest in active substances or biocidal products, the Biocides Sector Network (BSN) works to achieve a common position on issues relating to the Biocidal Products Regulation and ensure this position, and the interests of the chemical industry, are represented to the competent authority. The Network also acts as a forum allowing discussion of the Regulation, and providing support in implementation.

Chemicals Management Network

Network Manager: Roger Pullin

This network is the place for chemicals management professionals. Set up for members to share information, discuss and obtain member views on specific issues, identifying any potential upcoming challenges for industry and respond collectively to consultations. Join this network to participate in focused activities on regulatory policy issues in the UK and EU (e.g. UK Chemicals Strategy, REACH, GHS, CLP), PFAS, combination effects of chemicals and Mixture Assessment Factors, essential uses concept, and international chemical policy (e.g. SAICM, plastics, UN Science Policy Panel on chemical pollution and waste, Stockholm & Rotterdam Conventions).
